Re: The New Testament
Thanks Laxman for help with "The Guns of Brixton (Afterlife Remix)" and the Black Market Clash Edit of "Justice Tonight/Kick It Over". Thanks to Audio Ammunition for the "I'm Not Down" stems.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. (Repeat to infinity).
My weekend is sorted. Nice to see the Kampuchea Bankrobber in there, it is a terrific live version of that song, the best I think.

Zippity whip bang! Is this mix different than your previous "Paul: You offer nothing" version?

I'll be having some of this at the weekend. Cheers Marky.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Bloody hell Marky you have an incredible work rate, I thought this would be weeks away. Glad to have been able to assist even if only in a very small way. After a massive 45 minute download have just dipped into a few tracks so far but sounding great, love the way you've brought Mickey's keys to the fore on I'm Not Down, completely changes the complexion of the track. Cheers again for all the great work.

Re: The New Testament
First quick impressions: the demos sound great, haven't listened to originals in years so can't immediately compare, but no way they ever sounded anywhere near this good.
The instrumentals: only listened to Lover's Rock but it's fucking amazing. Maybe it's the vocals that diminish that song for people, because you can't listen to this version and not realise what a great piece of virtuoso musicianship it is.
And just gave I'm Not Down a quick blast as well, very interesting, definitely adds to the quality of the song. Roll on tomorrow night, need some quality time to get my snout properly into this feast. And thanks to Laxman and AA too for their input!

Listening to CoL on disc 3 right now. Did you speed things up a wee bit? Otherwise, what I notice is so much more separation of the various components. It's a neat experience being able to so easily just "switch" in my head which part to focus on.

Re: The New Testament
In answer to your first question Doc yes this is a completely new mix to my previous one. Every track has been mixed and remastered. No I would not dare attempt to speed up the CoL tracks but I did remix mix them and they sound defined and powerful now.Dr. Medulla wrote:Listening to CoL on disc 3 right now. Re: The New Testament
Although I love the Bankrobber single that rockier sounding live version from the Kampuchea gig is indeed great. Cheers. I wasn't going to touch live stuff other than TV shows but as Armagideon Time was released officially on the Kampuchea double album I thought those other two tracks that surfaced on Dime deserved a new home. As others have previously mentioned if we only had the full gig in this quality.Low Down Low wrote:Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. (Repeat to infinity).

Re: The New Testament
Yep that was my mission on these mixes to bring out stuff hidden in the mix. Mickey's keys is an obvious one but all the tracks have a lot more Mick in them also.AudioAmmunition wrote:Bloody hell Marky you have an incredible work rate, I thought this would be weeks away. Please tell me Marky that out of tune 'pianner' is not really hidden in the mix at the end of Jimmy Jazz and that you have processed it in some way.
