Re: My next project...
There's the music recorded in 1981(?) that Suzi Ronson sang over (Teddy discovered a couple of years ago)...

Re: My next project...
Mick definitely plays guitar on it. Sounds to me like he's possibly playing saxophone as well. Actually, it sounds to me like Mick more or less made a demo that's been finished with a vocalist covering his vocal.Marky Dread wrote:Thanks mate nice one. I really like that track sure sounds like Stuart Goddard on vocals. Did Mick play on it or just produce it?Dirty Harry wrote:
Looks like B.I.M. had a handful of singles and an album with just the one produced by Mick a mono and stereo mix and the B-side "Might As Well Dance". Still like to know if he plays on it.

Shows how memorable that song is I barely remembered the thread until I read the bits where we are talking about the Heartbreakers and so on.Toppers Boppers wrote:There's the music recorded in 1981(?) that Suzi Ronson sang over (Teddy discovered a couple of years ago)...

Still at least I know it's Barnacle and not Lennard on the sax.

Calling TeddyB / Muppet Hi-Fi,
Does Mick play on the whole of Ian Hunter's Short Back n' Sides? I got the two disc cd set but the sleeve notes don't help much. I know he produces with Ronno but I want to know what tracks he actually plays on.
I think maybe these...
Central Park n' West
Lisa Likes Rock n' Roll
Old Records Never Die
Noises
Rain
Theatre Of the Absurd (Brixton Power) / Theatre Of the Absurd (Brixton Power) [Alt. Mix]

So he plays on all the tracks?muppet hi fi wrote:Marky, you probably already know this, but the three songs on Hunter/Ronson's 'Short Back & Sides' that feature Topper are "Central Park & West" (such a classic), "Noises" (pure Mick S!-era production) and "Leave Me Alone" (nice pop tune with fine b/vs from Mick).
Mick's obviously all over the rest of the album.

OK, in my view (obviously Teddy will have greater insight), these are the tracks Mick J plays/sings on:Marky Dread wrote:Calling TeddyB / Muppet Hi-Fi,

second disc i'm not sure, but suspect he's not on any other than the alt take of Theatre of the Absurd/Brixton Power.

i like Cinders pretty well - nice progression, Topper's especially hard and funky, Suzi is pretty good (hey she's no Ellen Foley ).Marky Dread wrote:Shows how memorable that song is I barely remembered the thread until I read the bits where we are talking about the Heartbreakers and so on.Toppers Boppers wrote:There's the music recorded in 1981(?) that Suzi Ronson sang over (Teddy discovered a couple of years ago)...

so was this from Sandinista! sessions at Wessex or Hunter/Ronson's Short Back and Sides sessions from Wessex? (that's obviously Price or Jeremy Green engineering, judging from Toppers drum tone/mix).

Hello,
Can someone upload B.I.M. material? I found a track on youtube but can't locate anything else. I don't want to violate any intellectual rights but can't find anything.
Thanks!

I doubt you'll find anything else out there unless you buy the vinyl singles. Mick is only on the one single.gkbill wrote:Hello,

Apparently Hugh Cornwell was making a record and The Clash just happened to be in the vicinity and this was the result, a new one on me I have to admit. Do like the Ian Dury one a lot, will have to check out the rest of the album.
