Good mix of tracks on the album. Some recent lps have sounded 'samey' from beginning to end, this one has some surprisingly different sounding tracks. Favourates so far are PUNK RIP and PLASTIC MEN, but only played it twice.

I've tried to like the Pads, but it's a bit too much of a sub-Libertines blahfest... :shifty:

Shame About Elle is gossipy/amusing stuff about poor supermodel Laura (Hollings aka Agyness Deyn), who traded Josh out of the Paddingtons in for Albert Hammond Jr., if I've got my socialites straight. The album is pretty good, but tails off toward the end.

I've tried to like the entire current UK indie scene, but it's much too much of a sub-Libertines blahfest.

I've tried to like the whole last 15 years' musical production, but it's too much of a 70's- 80's first 90's blahfest...
The greatest legacy he leaves is that he made a generation of people think for themselves. He didnt quite manage to change the world but he changed the way people looked at it. It's a sad day - but what a life

Guitar bands seemed to go downhill in a hurry post-2004, but there're still some really cool groups out there. Ensembles like Foals need to go away, though.
