If you read through this entire listicle without falling asleep, you'd be the kind of person who'd find the concept of a 4-hour Brooose show "significant and record-breaking". X(

Here's a sad photo of Bruce
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Why's it sad? Dude got a $10 million dollar advance from Simon & Schuster, has had rave reviews, wrote the thing by himself, has a new album coming out, is off to his fave land (Australia), is living large.

Looks like he's alone in a bookstore trying to hock a book no one cares about.

I'll probably give that book a read when it makes its way to my terrible local library.

The part in the middle was quite fun.

I hate to admit it, but my Broooooooooose student submitted a really good research proposal (one of the best I've ever received) on (duh) Springsteen, the working class, and deindustrialization. He's challenging received wisdom that Springsteen fans are engineers who are wrong about most cultural matters.

It's really going to be difficult to be objective on this one.

What's more frightening is, at least based on his fan forums, I consider myself one of the smarter Bruce fans.

Yeah, we're all going to take credit for elevating you above the average lucky townie.
