No? Looks like he closed his glove before making contact with the fans -- the way it closes is smooth and deliberate (ladies), doesn't at all look like it would if his hands hit something and the glove was forced shut by the impact.
The one part of that craziness that I have no doubt is that the fan(s) messed with his glove. There's certainly doubt whether he would have caught it and whether hands were in the field of play, but not about whether Mookie closed his glove without interference.
It doesn't really matter any more, I suppose. If Boston wins the WS I'm sending Doc an "America's #1 JOE WEST FAN" shirt.
:yuck: Yet, I do have that KISS Yankees shirt, so I don't think that would necessarily set a new low …

That was a fine major league baseball game. Too bad Hooks was sleeping.
As I mentioned above, thank fuck. Hell, I woke up a couple times in the middle of the night and thought about checking the final score, but was scared I might not get back to sleep.

I was allowed to stay up after my bedtime, so I caught the whole game. Fucking awesome. Just gotta win one of the next three.

We welcome the support of the very white fans of St. Louis.

That's loser talk. The time to end this thing is tonight. Then Sale can ween off the saltines and honey tea and move to solid food and be ready for next week.

Pitching on short rest isn't ideal for Price breaking his winless streak, but maybe he needs that shaken up situation. If the Sox can get to the Astros bullpen while the game is close, they have a puncher's chance. But going up against Verlander is not a good set-up. Unless the Sox bats are hot from the git-go, I'm inclined to let Price, Hembree, and Workman take one for the team and give everyone else some rest, then regroup at Fenway.

A somewhat JFK courtroom speech-like account of the Interference play: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-fan ... ably-good/

even if it takes 140 pitches, I'd throw Verlander for 9

If it comes with surrendering 10 runs or so, I'm on board with this.

Well, that's a legit gripe for Astros fans—the ump misses strike three and then Martinez hits a bomb.

Go figure that working on short rest and after warming up in the bullpen last night that Price would chuck a gem against a really good team. He shut up assholes like me tonight.
