I don't really pay too much attention to lyrics. I'll grant that the band has many pretentious ones, but for me the draw is unconventional (for rock) chord progressions and structure, shit-hot guitar-playing, and interesting textures. I think what some people might see as boredom-inducing, I appreciate more as "music to zone out with," which is reinforced by my love of trip-hop and things like Neu! and some electronic stuff.

Damn decent set list. I wonder who's doing the vocals? I can't imagine Nick doing Vegetable Man or Bike.

It is a dream set list but from the you tube vids I've seen it's like a cover band, a very good one at that but it's not the Floyd. LIttle pricey too I won't be seeing them. I saw Roger on his solo tour and it was a fantastic spectacle.

Goddamn, I'd forgotten how good this live version of "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" from Ummagumma is:
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

I never gave PF a chance, same with Led Zeppelin, I was a punk, they were dinosaurs. Only started to listen to them in my late 20's and now I love them both
There were a lot of bands I wrote off without even giving them a chance simply because I felt I had to as a young, musical elitist punk kid. Glad I became more open minded as I grew older.
I grew more open-minded but not to Floyd and Zep. Still hate 'em.
We know you chose KISS and Phil Collins. One man's meat... ;)

I don't know why I didn't include this on my Pink Floyd Challenge List (or did I? I can't really remember):
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

It sounds like a pretty fantastic live experience and not a sad piece of nostalgia. Good on Mason for doing it right.

My stoke levels are super high for Thursday. I've heard nothing but great things from folks who have attended the first few shows of the tour. I'll try to submit a show review at least as detailed as my Elton John one. :shifty:
