In 20 years, we are going to be referring to the "red hats" the same way we refer to the "brown shirts."

Is it, tho? There's more evidence, I'd say, that Trump's base is peeling away, more disillusioned by the realities of what he offers. Far more of these toads will be quietly tossing away their red hats, looking to delete photos and tweets, as the value of being part of the fantasy ebbs. The vast, vast majority are chickenshit bullies or wannabe bullies, not true believers will to die for the cause.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑23 Jan 2019, 11:37amHopefully in the past tense. We had to kill a lot of Nazis and lost a lot of of people last time. This is just starting to get ugly.

Which is exactly why they need to be intimidated at every opportunity.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑23 Jan 2019, 12:09pmIs it, tho? Intimidated, shunned, shamed, ostracized—definitely. And those who turn away should be encouraged.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑23 Jan 2019, 1:02pmWhich is exactly why they need to be intimidated at every opportunity.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑23 Jan 2019, 12:09pmIs it, tho? Re: The Trump observations thread
Traditional indigenous societies used shame and ostracization effectively as socializing/punishment techniques. Being laughed at by others was especially painful to experience because it represented being regarded as a lesser figure in the structure. Admittedly, it's a lot more powerful in tightly bound subsistence societies, where everyone has a duty to the survival of the whole, but humans are highly social creatures who feed off the respect of their peers and family. So, if you want the respect of a bunch of snivelling bigots, go for it, Chad, but the price is losing it from others. You don't get both. These Tylers don't want there to be a price because, hey, being white and male is supposed to mean that there are no negative consequences in life. You're still free to be a nasty prick, but you're not free to expect admiration or companionship.Silent Majority wrote: ↑23 Jan 2019, 3:14pmSo many social media posts out there with MAGA dicks who have been cut off by their family.

It needs to be said/remembered that the "red hat" is a really ugly hat. It's not even like retro cool...it just looks like a free hat they would have given away at the Riviera back in 1995.

Furious at the very believable fact that the prick is working towards a coup in Venezuela.
