When Mick vacated The Clash it wasn't a case of losing a vocalist it was a case of losing the groups best musician and arranger. To me it was no surprise that the mk II version went down the back to basics route. Mick was the innovator and unafraid of exploring new territory. To some this was made The Clash sound softer and way less punk rock. However to me The Clash were always about moving forward not backwards.
I completely agree. There were a lot of punk bands that never moved beyond making punk. They did it well - some of them continue to do it today - but the Clash moved beyond punk so quickly and that is all because of Mick - the music fanatic.
Would have to say it also had a lot to do with Joes folk roots, Paul’s reggae obsession and Toppers ability to play a multitude of different forms. They were such a collective hodgepodge of musical tastes and differences that I kind of feel the path they took was the only one that made proper sense. At least to me anyway.

Those were popular in like middle school, maybe high school.
I can attest that wearing those shirts did absolutely nothing to make me look cool in High School.

I do get compliments and positive comments from randos literally every time I wear my Old Crow Medicine Show Plays Blonde on Blonde tour t-shirt tho. So I wear that to look cool.

Casual Friday at work so I wore a music shirt in honor of International Clash Day. I keep waiting for HR to pull me aside because of Paul's pointed gun!

My selfie skills are pretty bad. It took me about 15 minutes today to realize that the photo wouldn't be reversed once I took it!

Nice one mate!

I'm rubbish at selfies anyway. Also I am always grumpy.
Here's today's tee.
