After the past couple of days, a wind chill of 10F felt almost warm.

And, amazingly, by Monday it'll be thawing.

It’s supposed to be FIFTY Monday. And rainy. Of course.

We had a heart attack of snow overnight. Two hours of shovelling, even with a snow blower. I don't think I've ever dealt with this much snow in a winter, and we hardly had any until January.

Re: Beaner's and Rattie's Weather Porn Thread
We had that overnight on Monday. 8-10 of heavy, wet snow. I hit a chunk of ice and broke the shear pins on my snowblower and it was too dark and cold to replace them Tuesday morning - so I did it by hand. It was vicious. Worked half day because the kids were off school (they've had 4 "snow" days in the past month - which is insane for Wisconsin). Fixed snowblower - always fun working with metal when it's cold outside. Did driveway and sidewalk again. Another inch came down before the day was over - so I shoveled that and then did another inch this morning. If my family wasn't all in the area - I'm thinking I'd be willing to head to a warmer part of the country...Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Feb 2019, 11:49amWe had a heart attack of snow overnight. The only saving grace was that the snow was of the light and fluffy variety. I don't think I've ever had the experience of opening the door and being faced with several feet of drifts and having to shovel my way out the door. All the schools are closed and the government's told employees not to bother coming in. Batshit.WestwayKid wrote: ↑13 Feb 2019, 12:27pmWe had that overnight on Monday. 8-10 of heavy, wet snow. I've only been close to that once - about 2 feet. It sucked. I lulled myself into thinking winter might be mild this year. November through mid-January were decent and then we just got rocked with extreme cold and lots of snow. I'll take the snow, however. 2 weeks ago it was minus 30 without a wind chill on my drive to work. That was putrid. Living in Wisconsin - and especially living on the shores of Lake Michigan - I expect it to be cold and snowy in winter, but it still gets to you eventually.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Feb 2019, 12:41pmThe only saving grace was that the snow was of the light and fluffy variety. I think he's talking about eumaas. Also, Wolter'll never be reconstructed, no matter where he lives.
