Great album, as is the following one, After the Snow (on which "Melt" sticks out rather sorely, despite the album being more melodic and accessible than this one). Check it out too!Flex wrote: ↑09 Feb 2019, 2:50pmModern English - Mesh & Lace (1981)
Listening to a 4AD post-punk band? I feel like some sort of common doc worm or kory. This is good stuff. Some nice punky guitar gives this a little more punch than i would have expected. Sort of hard to believe that this unit was about to write and record "I Melt With You" but that's music for ya.
On the sound quality front, I'm listening to the 2015 Silver Saucer reissue of M&L and it sounds great.

Sorry, could see image but hadn’t heard album before wondered if any good. Looked it up on YouTube I had heard some of the tracks before.
Was that around the same time Hall recorded All Kinds Of Everything with Sinead O’Connor?

I don't know anything about "All Kinds Of Everything". I know that for the second Colourfield album "Deception" sessions Terry recorded "Monkey in Winter" with Sinéad O'Connor. Which is a brilliant track and is an extra on the reissued CD.101Walterton wrote: ↑12 Feb 2019, 7:24pmSorry, could see image but hadn’t heard album before wondered if any good. Here's Monkey in Winter. Sinead and The Colourfield.
...and The Terry vocal version.
A bit of research and google tells me Sinéad O'Connor and Terry Hall recorded "All Kinds of Everything" for the 1998 album "A Song For Eurotrash" An album of Eurovision cover versions by various artists released in 1998.
1. Brigitte Bardot - Saint Tropez
2. Kenickie - Save Your Kisses for Me
3. Dubstar - Poupee de cire, puopee de son feat. Sacha Distel
4. Edwyn Collins - Ding a Dong
5. Saint Etienne - La La La
6. Dean Martin - Volare
7. Terry Hall & Sinéad O'Connor - All Kinds of Everything
8. Shane MacGowan and the Popes - What's Another Year
9. Eva Henger - Ooh Yeah
10. Fox Force 5 - A Ba Ni Be
11. Annie Christian - Congratulations
12. Bananarama - Waterloo
13. 808 State - Variations on Te Deum (Eurovision Theme)
14. Antoine de Caunes & Kate Robbins - A Song for Eurotrash
As there are Shane fans around these parts I thought I'd post this.

Thanks for the Shane track Marky. I remember hearing about this but never actually heard it before. I really wish he could do some new music.

I did a lecture last year that dealt with, in part the Frankenchrist trial. My slideshow included the warning sticker but, nuh uh, no way I was going to show the poster. I told people to Google it if they wanted after class.

Good call. I don't know whatever happened to my poster. Could it still be in the record sleeve? Now I gotta check.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Feb 2019, 12:43pmI did a lecture last year that dealt with, in part the Frankenchrist trial.
