And Morrissey will be cancelling shows in Canada at the last minute for the first time in around 15 years.

Like eumaas with chickenfoot, I find my appreciation for DMB is highest when I'm not listening to them.

They're playing in Madison (about an hour away) the day after their gig in Jorstville - but without X. I'd consider going to see them as I've never done so - which is almost sacrilege for kid from Milwaukee!

Marc Almond at the Globe in DTLA, the 1st 2/3 of the show he was playing mostly shit I didn't know and i was regretting making a last minute decision and buying a ticket at the door, but then near the end he blew the roof off with "Heat" and the best electric guitar version of "Sex Dwarf"I'd ever heard. I still think he should have let me pick the set list, but I went home happy.

That is a sacrilege! They are fantastic live. I mean, absolutely fantastic. There is really no other band like them out there. I can't think of anyone else who would make playing percussion on a Weber grill sound exciting and not jam band insufferable. Don't miss them. Plus, they always stick around after for however long it takes to meet fans.

I've added it to the calendar!!

On a side note - we had a sales meeting at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin a couple years ago and I "wasted" 30 minutes trying to find the location of the former recording studio where the Femmes recorded their first album. The studio had been built on the grounds - when it was still a Playboy Club (which closed in the 1980's). The resort was reopened as a more "family friendly" vacation spot, but the studio never opened back up. The space where the studio was located is now the resort's engineering offices.
