Yes, three cheers for Westway. This has been a lot of fun.

Re: THE FINAL
Thirding the thanks to Westway for doing the legwork on all this. When you go home tonight there'll be an extra story on your house.

Re: THE FINAL
What about the isolated track gave it away?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, Mick can make mistakes too.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Re: THE FINAL
Talking of Paul playing on the albums, Bill Price made it pretty clear in an in-depth interview that he definitely played on London Calling (the song). He was also sent upstairs by Sandy Pearlman to get the GEER stuff note perfect. Why would this happen if he wasn't playing on the album?

As I said last time: NEVER VOTE AGAINST SKA. The Flexian credo.
Both incredible songs, but sticking with voting off CC. Rudie is too perfect in every way.

That kind of absolutism leads one to No Doubt. And then your family has to move far away and change their name.

Re: THE FINAL
I'm sure we've had this discussion before. I think Paul played on more than people sometimes give him credit for. Unlike Sid - Paul did progress as a bass player.Heston wrote: ↑08 May 2019, 4:10pmTalking of Paul playing on the albums, Bill Price made it pretty clear in an in-depth interview that he definitely played on London Calling (the song). Re: THE FINAL
The fumbling mostly. If you compare it to Mick's obvious playing on LITS, plus what we know Paul sounds like live, it's fairly obvious.

Engineers at Fender have been working feverishly for years trying to recreate Paul's famous BONK BONK tone.Kory wrote: ↑08 May 2019, 5:13pmThe fumbling mostly. If you compare it to Mick's obvious playing on LITS, plus what we know Paul sounds like live, it's fairly obvious.

It's really not hard to make with a P-bass. Kind of overrated instruments, I think.Inder wrote: ↑08 May 2019, 5:16pmEngineers at Fender have been working feverishly for years trying to recreate Paul's famous BONK BONK tone.

I thought you'd use an example of a band that isn't awesome.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑08 May 2019, 5:02pmThat kind of absolutism leads one to No Doubt. And then your family has to move far away and change their name.
