It's a great song but always felt a bit clunky to me in its execution. The Clash would have done it better.

Even at that, Megatop would be tough for me to care about.
I think it has some good songs but I like it more as a whole. In isolation the tracks aren't as good. And it needed quicker fades on the 10 times repeated choruses at the end of a few of the songs.
Been some time since I've listened to it as a whole, so maybe that's on tap.

edit: Okay, just finished listening to it. It still feels more inspired than executed well.
I think the band had a lot more writing credits as Mick was hospitalized during its inception. It does miss his usual melodic gift in places.
I think it's great considering it's time frame and the acid house inspiration.
Agreed, I think it hangs together well, got it on now.

Medicine Show for me, beautiful melody and the flares line is brilliant.

E=MC2 for me, though Medicine Show runs it close. Also love Applecart, V13 and Much Worse.

Lyrically superb. "They traded some for a hostage release" "If you ain't ill it'll fix your car"

Just really poignant yet funny at the same time.

E=MC2 and Sightsee MC! from the first two albums for me.

I loved the TV Meltdown show where Mick sings "They traded some for Terry Waite".

Applecart, E=MC2 and V13 are solid. Also worth a mention is Battle of All Saints Road, fucking love that song.

I predict the final is going to be Medicine Show, Sightsee, Applecart, and Contact.

I want Just Play Music to make it far, but I wish the lyrics were better.

Though I've not investigated the lyrics, I love this song so much, got a great joyful vibe to it.
