My doctor friend says the science seems to be that alcohol depresses your immune system, which means that you don't have immune responses (ie symptoms), which is all well and good when you're young.tepista wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 1:48pmyes, and the science behind that is that cold germs are pussies who can't handle their liquor.

Vodka straight from the freezer, no mixer, big glass full. I swear by this for colds/sore throats
Re: What Are you Eating Right Now?
Vicodin usually works well for my sore throats.

Other than that I agree.

I do like D and B with Fish and Chips on rare occasions. Otherwise, pop is for losers...BitterTom wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 4:50pmDandelion and burdock?101Walterton wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 4:45pmYep that’s what I was thinking. Never really drank it. As a kid I had a glass of Tizer on Sundays and original Lucazade when off school sick (when you had to but it at the chemist) that was about it really apart from Coke at Christmas.BitterTom wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 4:50pmDandelion and burdock?101Walterton wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 4:45pmYep that’s what I was thinking. I hardly ever drink it either, but I know what I like when I do.101Walterton wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 4:45pmYep that’s what I was thinking. I think I drink about one Coke every 6 months at best and usually for a hangover. Never touch any other ‘pop’.
I actually like plain soda water more than most sugared sodas.

I've got a bottle of this in the pantry that must be like 15 years old from a friend who brought it back from Ireland for me.101Walterton wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 9:16pmNever really drank it. Used to come wrapped in yellow cellophane and I think it even had a warning on it? You definitely could only buy it a chemist. I loved it.revbob wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 9:25pmI've got a bottle of this in the pantry that must be like 15 years old from a friend who brought it back from Ireland for me.101Walterton wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 9:16pmNever really drank it. I actually like plain old tap water. Can’t stand 0% alcohol beers so if I am driving (rarely) I will have water.Wolter wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 9:22pmI hardly ever drink it either, but I know what I like when I do.101Walterton wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 4:45pmYep that’s what I was thinking. Re: What Are you Eating Right Now?
I was pretty much kidding around. I was given a Vicodin prescription after my c-section, and I had jokingly brought up on Facebook (or it may have even been here) if taking Vicodin for a sore throat was excessive. Tempting, but I didn't do it.
