This Is Big Audio Dynamite - Round 2
Being both so cheap, real phony, and a little xenophobic, Sony is OUT.

Sticking with Bad. Still don't get the xenophobia accusations I've seen thrown at Sony.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Switching to Sudden Impact. As I mentioned before the lyrics helped me to appreciate A Party a little more, it may get the vote next round but it slightly tops SI! Not a bad little tune, quite funky but doesn't do much for me.

Starts getting tough now. "Stone Thames," I suppose.

Voting same, although quality across these tracks is quite consistent (or better)

Yeesh, just read the lyrics to Sony. Glad it went first.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

The quality gets very similar around this point for all but the cream. I’m voting BAD, because the Don rap is one of my least favorites of his, but it’s a game of inches.
I will say this is by far the most consistent BAD album. I think the highs on Upping are a little higher on average, but the lows are much more forgettable or irritating.

Listened to it this morning and the music on that song deserves a lot better.

Re: This Is Big Audio Dynamite - Round 2
the music to sony is good, and I actually rather like the vocal delivery but man those lyrics have somehow aged worse than just about anything else associated with the band, and that's saying something.
I've been spinning this album nonstop for the last 5 or so days and Im enjoying it more and more. Some real gems.

I suspect if there were an extended version we'd hear the remaining 15% of known Japanese stereotypes that weren't used in the song.

There's a "dub" version which is great cos it take the lyrics out

Is it on a BAD Files volume? I haven’t dug those out in years, but I would like that. The music on it is SO much better than the lyrics.Silent Majority wrote: ↑15 May 2019, 11:34amThere's a "dub" version which is great cos it take the lyrics out
