Re: The BitterHoyston Review thread
Since the NYT has been publishing Gen X think pieces like crazy lately, here's our most mediocre voice of a generation:

Say now, what decade were they popular in?

Early Lemonheads rules. Hate Your Friends is a top LP, imho
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Lemonheads and Wilson Phillips?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Fun* Fact About Evan Dando: my friend Kerry is fairly credibly convinced that he raped a friend of hers after a concert in the early 90s.

I believe it. He's a privileged asshole in every sense of the word (racially, economically, looks). And even with all of that privilege, he's astonishingly mediocre. So, basically, textbook rapist.

Another own goal by Tom for the IMCT team.
Re: The BitterHoyston Review thread
My thoughts too. I'm sure he was particularly egotistical at the time (if not still, but particularly when a lot of people were telling him he was important). It seems similar to a lot of stories that have come to light recently.

Great pop tune and a deceptively great chord sequence. Written by 80s icon and snood-wearer Nik Kershaw.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
Re: The BitterHoyston Review thread
Quite agree. I never knew that, though I dont know much of Kershaw's discography, what I've heard I really like.
