That was tougher than I thought. I think I genuinely like all of these songs. I like Sandpaper slightly less, I guess.

Also going with Sandpaper. A leftover from the Wilderness years (hence it being in these polls twice), it doesn't quite have that Meskies feel the rest of this very strong side does.

Rock Art is a way more massive record than I mentally give it credit for. Holy fuck this A-side. Not a duff track in the bunch, imho.

Sandpaper is my favourite on the album.

Top track for me also.

I realized a while back that Rock Art is one of those quietly really good albums where pretty much every track is at least a solid B.

I live all 3 Meskies albums and rate them the best 3 post Clash albums by any of them.

Sorry but they just can't come anywhere near the melodic, lyrical and conceptual power of TIBAD for me. The first and third albums are hotch potches dragged together to get a product together. Global is the only 'proper' album but is hamstrung by that utterly pointless version of Minstrel Boy and a couple of rather ordinary tracks.

Global is the descendant of Sandinista! But the first three BAD albums are my go to listens.

I'm with my Limey comrades here, tho I'm not as negative as Heston towards the Meskie records. They just aren't my aesthetic preference.
