ROUND 13 - Streetcore - SEMIFINAL
The sensible thing to do was to close off the burnin' streets to public access. A sound municipal safety plan, really.
This will be interesting. In their original heat, these final two songs battled it out to a draw. I wonder if those results will hold or if folks have reconsidered their preferences (or if we'll have some additions or subtractions of voters). Would love to hear from anyone who decides to flip their vote. This has to be the most competitive match-up of the tournament.
And, again, REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR THE SONG YOU LIKE LEAST. Don't fuck up this one. No do-overs.

I was a Coma Girl partisan the last time we had this matchup and so I remain. Just pure joyous energy.

As I said the first time these two went to head, GDM is my favourite Meskies song, so I have to stick with that, but I have no argument to offer why someone should choose it over CG. I'd be pleased to have either one of these end up head-to-head against Trash City, or, if they tie here, against each other at the end.

Cool with either winning, but I give a slight edge to Coma Girl.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I love them both, and I won’t be sad if Coma Girl wins, but Get Down Moses is my favorite non-Clash Joe song.

Not suggesting vote rigging *wink wink* but a tie means, as I said above, that these two could be the very last ones standing.

Never really got the love for GDM. Coma Girl is that rare thing, a Meskies songs with a super catchy melody. And I'm a sucker for those.

GDM has a great smooth groove with Joe playing the role of prophet, delivering the news. It's hectoring Joe but delivered with Beat cool. I can't imagine Joe singing that without wearing the blackest of sunglasses on his face.

I shall be losing all faith in humanity if GDM loses.
