Very honest, plenty would not put their hand up in that situation like people who can’t help but watching a car crash.

I'm not sure what equivalent of jury duty is in Commonwealth nations but here in the states people will make up all kinds of bullshit to get out of it.

That used to be the case in UK and definitely in NZ but it got to the point where anyone with half a brain e.g. a job got out of it. The only people left on jury service were nosey old grannies and unemployable.
In NZ very difficult to get out of it now and if you do you get recalled straight away.
