I really like it. I watched it years ago and it was hard to find but it's easy to find a copy today. The makers ran out of colour film stock at the third reel and so they used black and white. It's a cult classic.

Thanks I'll look for it. I noticed some scenes in color was wondering what that was about. Its funny how stuff like that was such a finite resource at one point.

I like it too. I think there's a Criterion edition, isn't there?

Lindsay Anderson films = big influence on Mick and Joe both.

"If" is a great film. Left a big impression on me as a youngster.

just rewatched recently and it holds up beautifully. streaming on Criterion channel at the moment..

Sort of, impressionistically. Malcolm McDowell’s character has the same name (Mick Travis) but doesn’t necessarily share the same past. Also, O! Lucky Man was Helen Mirren’s first film. Great song score from Alan Price.
