Come on, America. When is the revolution going to happen? I wouldn’t mind Jeff Bezos “in the back of an old green Cortina” though I imagine our beheadings would happen on Times and not Trafalgar Square.

My guess is that things are still just too comfortable so far.

I saw that Shake Shack sent theirs back to the government, which I thought was dumb. Why would you trust the government to put it in a better place? Just distribute it yourself to smaller business around you.

It's a strange bedfellows situation, but I understand old money's contempt for the nouveau riche. That man, as an old grand dame might say, is uncouth.

Add to the anxiety and alienation—what could go wrong? It's like they're looking to provoke violence.

Back in the 1930s, when the Plains were the home to a lot of leftist radicalism (plenty of Communists, along with socialists of various stripes), when the bank repossessed a farm and went to auction it off, it wasn't uncommon for community members to show up armed to dissuade anyone but the original owner from bidding. People took care of their own.

Wouldn't that be nice today.

Plastic Surgery Disasters was a transformative record for me. I think it really formed my worldview.
