Holy Fuck.
This is not complicated. For men, sartorial good taste can be reduced to one rule: If Fred Astaire would not have worn it, don't wear it. For women, substitute Grace Kelly.
What I love about the piece is that he wasn't obliged to write any of it. Nobody had been banging on his door demanding that George Will write about jeans. Yet, it apparently burned in his skull enough that he had to put it out there that, yes, he does have a massive pole up his ass and it's been there since at least the 1950s.
Just imagine a person being infuriated because they see an adult wearing denim. Wow!!

Back in the 50s and 60s, that kind of teeth-gnashing wasn't uncommon—the teenagers are taking over! Fathers are consulting their kids on where to eat of go on vacation! Hollywood is making movies for teenagers! Ed Sullivan is showing rock n roll combos! And in 2009, George Will was still raging about that cultural barbarism that had infected American adults.

Can we bring back Gershwin and the big bands. Anything after 1935 is degenerate music.

The Victrola ruined music. Music peaked during Benjamin Harrison's presidency and has gone straight downhill once ragtime was devised by outlaw Negros.

Adrian Chiles is a professional wind-up merchant - no-one takes him seriously. He just likes to be "controversial" or contrarian.

BLTs are the best. The only sandwich to consider in a meal deal.

Egg without cress (who wants grass in a sandwich).

Looked it up. The wife likes it in soups. Can't imagine having it with eggs though.
