What tracks that made Earthquake Weather should've been Clash songs?

Could "Love Kills" and "Trash City" have been Clash songs?

Shouting Street, Island Hopping and Sleepwalk would have been worthy Clash songs.

Trash City yes, Love Kills not sure.

I would like you to set the Delorean to go to early 1978. You have been beavering away on some tracks in the Marquee studios and have worked on an old song "1-2 Crush On You" a rocked up cover version of "Pressure Drop" a couple of new(ish) songs "The Prisoner" "(White Man) in Hammersmith Palais". You're feeling quite pleased with your work and you will release the two new songs as your next single.

It's now time to consider the inevitable second album. You want to choose a producer but the record company are pushing for you to take their choice. What do you do? And what will be the track listing for your new platter?

To be honest I think they did the best with what they had for GEER. You could have stuck White Man on there but not very VFM in that era. I think Pearlman's production is fine, some of the lumbering arrangements were the main problem for me.

How about an alternate mix of White Man on the album?

Should have "Gates of the West" and "Groovy Times" been included on the album?

Making the next single "I Fought the Law B/W "Capital Radio".

Were GT and GotW finished by then? Not to the extent that they appeared on CoL ep I don't think.

True.

Ok, replace Julie, Last Gang, Drug Stabbing and Cheapskates with a redone White Man and everything from the CoL EP except Capital Radio. Now we're in business.

Is there any point to playing 90 mins for a football match?

Now it looks like the ref can ask you to take a penalty after you have showered and are on the team bus home. ;)
