I think Gene was the youngest in the early days.

Sort of boggles the mind I'm 35 now.

Yet the oldest.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I wonder what it will be like in, say, 300 years time for people to look back on what their ancestors were jabbering out about if forums like this are still archived.

Definitely not 20 years ago. More like 16 or 17.
So if he is now turning 32 he could have been 16 back then.
Sounds about right.

Follow up: when I first joined almost everyone seemed to be either 15-19 or 35-45 on here. It’s wild that there are people now within 2-3 years of my age.

Certainly one of the moustachiest.

I've been here 17 years in December and I can't remember Steak dude at all.
SalsiburySteakJr. You're lucky if you blocked him out. He was like Pitchfork made flesh.
I've read of his legendary shitness but pretty sure he was gone when I joined.
No way. Our tenure is around the length. You substance intake has had definite positive effects.

This was the first "online community" I ever joined. I didn't know rules or etiquitte or anything. First is best.

In the 90s, I was part of the Trashcan Sinatras listserv. The best parts of it and this place meshed very well—decent, clever people who like to argue and yak about music like assholes. Can't remember how the listserv died. Something about switching to a new guy in charge and the mood of the board changed and people slowly stopped participating. Made one really solid friend and several decent ones from that.

This was my first and only really (not including the odd Snews invasions).
I stalked all the Clash / Strummer trading sites for a long time without contributing. I think Joe’s death changed all that.
