Post your own music

Post by Kory »

I don’t think we have a universal thread for this, so here it is (unless I get lambasted for forgetting that we DO have one). I just produced this track, you might remember this band from our Red...y cover for the CTC tribute. My vocalist wanted to introduce a more melodious element than we usually do for the chorus.

Nice work Kory, I like this new melodic development. That chorus is very catchy. And I like that three note hook that comes in near the end.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Thanks! The drag is we only have vocals recorded for one other song so this may be the end of the band unless covid goes away suddenly.

Of course the first thing I notice, "interesting hi hat rhythm." It sounds good, a lot more organic than the older stuff I've heard. Almost a late 90's neo-soul kinda vibe to it if that doesn't seem off base.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Curious song in that the first minute or so, I wasn't feeling it, but the longer it goes, it really finds its slick groove. Has a real Stephen Hague feel to it. :shifty:

That makes sense to me, as a group we've been listening to Maxwell, D'Angelo, Badu, etc for years now. The more organic quality probably just comes from me getting better at programming.

In fact, that is the original Dr. Medulla, a villain in an episode of Rocket Robin Hood.
