Shitty band of white people sue black woman after they decided to make their name not so fucking racist.

Country group Lady A, which dropped the word "Antebellum" from their name because of the word's ties to slavery, has filed a lawsuit against a Black singer who has performed as Lady A for years.

If you came up with that yourself, serious applause.

No, I wish. I saw it in a meme over the weekend and got really disappointed in myself for not thinking of it first.

Kevin Rowland being as engagingly honest and intetesting as ever. My Beauty being reissued 21 years after its release, was never aware of the Springsteen story. I never thought the album was bad, some parts didnt work great but overall i liked the energy and obvious emotion of it.

Chris Frantz has a memoir out: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/ ... avid-byrne

The things raised in the interview confirm everything else I've read about David Byrne. I know Colin Newman thinks Byrne is a complete dick.

Interesting - I was reading about the complete disaster around that infamous Happy Mondays album the other day and am sure Frantz has some great stories to tell on that front.

"Nearly 20 years since the demise of the band?"

Bad journalism, they split in 91.

Presumably a typo (30, not 20) missed by the copy editor.

Ha! I'd never heard of that before, but Google came thru to explain the joke.

Really no shock to discover Byrne is a weird, self-obsessed person though.

Listened to his Desert Island Discs recently he came across as very normal nowadays but acknowledged maybe not always the case.

I wouldn't buy a second-hand car from him. Well not in that suit.
