I've cut my own hair for the last 10 years. Grade 5 on top, 3 on the sides. Easy job done.

I have done my own for years when I need to but I prefer to go to the barbers it makes much less mess plus I like the barber so don’t begrudge paying him.Marky Dread wrote: ↑25 Jul 2020, 6:18pmYeah thinking about it I've been doing it for about 20 years now. This is where I'm at. Also like the wax, burn and head massage from my barber Mehmet who is a great guy.101Walterton wrote: ↑25 Jul 2020, 6:27pmI have done my own for years when I need to but I prefer to go to the barbers it makes much less mess plus I like the barber so don’t begrudge paying him.Marky Dread wrote: ↑25 Jul 2020, 6:18pmYeah thinking about it I've been doing it for about 20 years now. There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
Re: Haircuts in the time of Plague
That's where I came to. plus my kid wouldn't let me cut his anymore at 14 so we go to the same barber. And I gotta say he has me looking sharp when he's done. Well my hair anyway. The face is what it is.101Walterton wrote: ↑25 Jul 2020, 6:27pmI have done my own for years when I need to but I prefer to go to the barbers it makes much less mess plus I like the barber so don’t begrudge paying him.Marky Dread wrote: ↑25 Jul 2020, 6:18pmYeah thinking about it I've been doing it for about 20 years now. Re: Haircuts in the time of Plague
Since COVID I go out of my way to use local business.
Pre COVID I used to get locals rate in barbers but now I decline and pay full cost ( it is only a few $$ difference).
I have also got rid of all of my coffee cards from local cafes. I don’t need a free coffee every 10 purchases but they need the extra $$$

Re: Haircuts in the time of Plague
I gave myself a haircut about a month ago because I hadn't had a trim since last December & I was supposed to head back to work the following week. I used an electric beard trimmer & it worked out okay; Mrs Unidos was available to even out the back, which I couldn't see in the mirror. I got a call from work later that afternoon extending my furlough until... August? September?

Re: Haircuts in the time of Plague
The back grows faster than the front, so I practically had a mullet.

Re: Haircuts in the time of Plague
There used to be this woman down the hall where I used to work and she was still proudly rocking her mullet when I left there in 2009. And it was horrendous.
