I gave myself a haircut and it's not great.
Why, you've got great hair.
The back grows faster than the front, so I practically had a mullet.
There used to be this woman down the hall where I used to work and she was still proudly rocking her mullet when I left there in 2009. And it was horrendous.
What position did she play on her softball team?
Good question, we never spoke but Im gonna guess catcher.

The mullet is back here. Started as a joke with rugby players but has now stuck and is an ironic thing.

I'm just growing it long.
Im headed in this direction.

I can't with the beard. It gets so damn itchy.
Just give it a little time
It clearly takes more than 2-3 months to stop being itchy based on my experience, which as far as I'm concerned is unacceptable in a facial hair style that looks absolutely terrible on 90% of the people who think it looks good on them.

I go with unshaven but as soon as it crosses the beard line I have to trim it.

I both hate shaving and hate having a beard. It's a delicate balance for me.

Serious same. I want medication that stops facial hair growth.

Beards have been.de rigueur in Vermont for longer than Ive been here.

Ive had compliments from people but honestly dont care much one way or the other at this point. Im happy to just let it grow. I dont think Id ever be Taliban material though it seems to sort of stop growing at some point.

Last haircut was mid January for me. I had one scheduled for a Tuesday in March. On the Monday before, they issued shelter in place. I tried to do a beard too, but that was itchy pretty much the entire 2 months I tried it. Particularly when wearing a mask. I've been basically paying for haircuts every two months at my barber's fundraiser site still since my employment hasn't been affected.

My hair was looking like Bieber circa 2010:

Now I look like Bardem in No Country:

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
