Great album, if a little top heavy. The last 4 tracks are still good but the first 4 are some of the best metal you'll ever hear.

Absolutely zilch in terms of creativity or innovation here, but it's a generally fun and sugary power pop/pop punk. They'd make a decent Weezer cover band.

The terribly under-appreciated Band of Susans' last album. Lots and lots of guitar noise, but never over-poweringly so.

Pop punk/power pop in the Weezer or Fountains of Wayne, with a baby-girl voiced singer who … takes some getting used to. Fun stuff.

A bit of a wanky album but this one is a great opener and song in general. Good build up, massive wall of sound in the chorus, very nice.

Oasis: Okay here goes some good tunes. However everything recorded way to fucking loud everything sounds bombastic there recordings are brickwalled to fuck.

Now if they had taken a different approach with a bit more finesse and care to their craft then maybe some of their music would stand the test of time but they were too big headed and arrogant and believed everything they did was awesome. But the truth is they sound really dated and half of their songs are at least 2 - 3 mins to long.

The band's that they stole from The Beatles/T. Rex/ The Faces and so on are all classic band's with awesome back catalogues whereas Oasis are not fit to be mentioned in the same breath.

A quarter century later, plenty of time to evaluate, who was better: Oasis or Blur?

Was never a fan of either, but I'll take a Blur best-of over an Oasis one any day of the week.
