The Ultimate Women's Album - Side 2 Track 1 Nominations

Post by Dr. Medulla »

revbob's ardent support of Kate Bush, round after round, finally carried the day. A hardy backslap to revbob for steering his favourite artist into the tracklist.

Side 1 is now complete:
Blondie, "Hanging On the Telephone"
The Breeders, "Cannonball"
Dusty Springfield, "Son of a Preacher Man"
ABBA, "SOS"
Althea & Donna, "Uptown Top Ranking"
Kate Bush, "Wuthering Heights"

Side 2, Track 1 on vinyl and cassette, or Track 7 on cd-only releases. Have at it, folks.

One of the best god damn songs ever:

Salt n Pepa - Shoop
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Not too shabby. Great opener and an ABBA classic.

I'm nominating "Ever So Lonely" by Monsoon. Great track from 1982 that sounds way ahead of its time...

Tends to be the most popular but actually one of my least favourite tracks on that album. Great record.

So, is the artist Mercy or Duffy?

(Folks, doing it Artist, "Song" means there's no ambiguity.)

Even in 08, UK can have a #1 hit that I have no awareness of.
