It's not like cold food is popular in perpetually hot and muggy locations. Pho is an obvious example (though I don't know if it's popularity in Vietnamese-American cuisine is representative of its popularity in Vietnam).Kory wrote: ↑14 Aug 2020, 1:15pmWhen I was in England last, it was hot as hell out, and we went to high tea. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Right. I would give anything to have my husband sit outside for as long as he wants. I need alone time.Spiff wrote: ↑14 Aug 2020, 11:29amAnd her reasoning is .... what?revbob wrote: ↑13 Aug 2020, 8:43pmIm not banging on any fucking doors.

Tea is the most thirst quenching drink on a hot day.Kory wrote: ↑14 Aug 2020, 1:15pmWhen I was in England last, it was hot as hell out, and we went to high tea. Things aren't quite as dire as it may sound. But between covid and winter that lasts so long here I cherish time outdoors. I am ready to buy a firepit so I can stay out even longer in the season.JennyB wrote: ↑14 Aug 2020, 4:16pmRight. I would give anything to have my husband sit outside for as long as he wants. When I move to Vermont I'm gonna build a fire pit, a sauna hut, and a hot tub.

Oh god, don't drink that bottled shit. That's not even tea. Brewed is the only way to go.

I've confessed here before that until we moved to NC, our iced tea was powdered. Horrible, I know. The deserved scorn we received was significant. Properly brewed iced tea is proof of god's grace.
