I regret not going to NYC to see him. Im feeling the same about Shane MacGowan but that's a slow drawn out death.101Walterton wrote: ↑27 Jul 2020, 8:38pmI regret never meeting Joe when I had the chanceHeston wrote: ↑27 Jul 2020, 8:35pmThis was 5 days after I met Joe for the one and only time. It was after that show that i started getting into Warren Zevon, some really great music in that catalogue.revbob wrote: ↑27 Jul 2020, 9:43pmI regret not going to NYC to see him. And on the subject of regrets, i had this ambition to do a mini tour of the states following the meskies but found an excuse to put it off in 2002 and said next year definitely.

I was listening the Colourbox box set, which has their cover of "The Wanderer" (its … okay), and was reminded about how great this song is. It has such an easy-going and seductive rhythm with deceptive lyrics about the lonely life of the lothario. A great response to "American Pie" type of nonsense about rock n roll's fate between Buddy Holly and the Beatles.

Loved this since I first heard it in the Wanderers movie when I was 14. One of those perfect tracks. I think young Tom prefers the Status Quo version, the absolute madman.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑08 Aug 2020, 4:19pm

What's better than finding an awesome song you never heard before and learning that it's 50 years old!
