No, fuck it all. People have bitched from the start about having to spend three minutes reading the guidelines, all of which is pretty straightforward common sense. And interest in the game is clearly waning. I've got other stuff I could be doing with my time, so going forward, nominate anything you want—bands that have already won, bands with male singers, "Paranoid." I'll copy and paste it into a single vote for each round. Vote for as many as you want and I'll end the poll whenever it looks like it's done. Let's just finish this shit off.
Shit, Doc. You do whatever works best for you. This is supposed to be fun.
And as usual Hoy ruined it.

FWIW I think Doc's been doing a great job with this.

Im not sure overall interest has waned. Ive got songs lined up for each slot.

No big deal checking beforehand whether there's a vinyl release if you only have the cd. Shouldn't really matter which came first, unless you're trying to complicate things even further.

This is all on me guys. It's pretty straightforward and I didn't bother reading the rules. Apologies to everyone, especially doc regarding my temper tantrum.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Agreed, I'm enjoying the game. Hopefully everyone can KISS and make up.

Nobody get on Andrew for this. As I told him in a PM, I've got real-world work hassles because people aren't following rules, and that's making it harder for me to get my own shit done. So I'm a bit sensitive to that stuff right now. My goal was only to create conditions where I could stay as neutral in the game as possible and let you folks do all the arguing.

Okay, I've calmed down a bit and will go set up the vote for this track. Sincere apologies for the drama.

I do think that all of us (not me, I'm always perfect :shifty:) can stand not to poke in a jokey/complain-y way at those of us who arrange fun board activities, remembering that we're working with a group of friends who are just as cranky as we are.

Hello Doc,

It might help to post what is on the last slide of my first powerpoint to classes today. It's from Zlatan: "Criticism is everywhere. I like it. I eat it for breakfast, then for lunch." When in doubt, trust the Zlatan.

Heh. It's more bullshit real world stuff that reminds me of a good line a friend had. He worked in a warehouse with a bunch of fuck ups, which made him perpetually grouchy. His boss called him in and said, "You've got a bad attitude about your job." Friend replied, "I don't have a bad attitude about my job; I have a bad attitude about doing other people's job."

I don’t think you realise how much work (and time) goes into running a poll like this until you actually do it. It is really fucking annoying when people keep jabbing away pointing out flaws in the project. I’m not talking about board banter (like the Paranoid debacle) but the constant digs about the project outcome or pointing out of errors like spelling mistakes or confusing the band / song.
It is just a bit of fun people.

It was usually about 13 seconds for me.
