Im all about the reviewing.
I'm far more interested in that then presenting anything. I'm happy not to do the latter at all.
If you wanna go to the nude beach you have to at least take off your shirt.
Fine, I'm just going across the lake with my telescope.

The view of the Milky Way is so much better on the other side of the lake.

So is there a set group of people reviewing or is it like a drop in thing?
Just a drop in, I think, but my guess is that if you don't participate in the reviewing, you won't earn a chance to present your own 5.

New challenge thread...you sissy.

I would have gone with Uranus because I'm less clever and have the maturity of a 10 year old.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah but you would need to remove the word "the".

My 5 are ready to go for next Monday, no piddling about this time.
Good stuff. I hope a few more reviews come in for Maj's choices because I think this is a great exercise and I don't want it to fizzle out.
Who is going after revbob? I have 5 I could throw out there.

He's Making a Tape - WIld Billy Childish and the MBEs
I like the guitar tone and the Career Opportunities hook. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the vocals, but they have great energy. It does remind me of being a teenager again, which gets more weird/depressing as I near 40. 8/10

Looking for a Job - Todd Snider
This isn't my thing, but I can appreciate what went into writing it and executing it. I like the harmony in the prechorus, it would be nice if it stuck around a bit longer. I kind of feel like this song could be maybe 5 bpm faster. 6/10

Jim on the Move - Lizzy Mercier Descloux
Kind of reminds me of Young Marble Giants. I'd have liked some lyrics, but it has a good feel and mood. Nice understated drum fill in the middle. 7/10

Fade Away - Junior Byles
I was already a Byles fan, so this is way the hell up my alley. The dub is a little weak—the dropouts come at awkward times and without heavy delay to shore them up, it's a little jarring. Do you know who did the mix on this? 8/10

Colour In Your Cheeks - The Mountain Goats
Not really my thing. Could have been a good skatepunk song maybe. I have a hard time getting interested in acoustic singer-songwriter stuff, it always seems like it's missing something. 2/10

Hey, I do lots of commenting here. I'm just not interested in posting songs.
