Correct! My next clue was going to be really nothing.
Please don't start saying that. Or I'll start believing you.
Great song and what a voice. I like some of his solo stuff too. His cover of Wild is the Wind, for example.
Really good stuff mate agreed. A very distinct voice.
He was also (apparently) the inspiration behind William, It Was Really Nothing by The Smiths.
See Laxman's post further up. "Correct! My next clue was going to be really nothing."

Billy also replied to Morrissey with "Stephen, It Was Really Something ".

I don’t think I found that out until some time after it came out, probably then made more sense. I will have heard Billy’s riposte because Laxwife has all the Associates albums but can’t recall what it sounds like, will have to give it a listen again.

Saw this question earlier on another forum and has me totally stumped. Still don't know the answer.

Does this mean that everyone who was in the band is dead (of OD's, etc) or can some still be alive?

Jimi Hendrix Experience fits the bill.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I would guess so. Not my question obviously but I'm assuming all members are dead and band is defunct.

That was offered and rejected on account Noel Redding doesn't qualify. Which is debatable perhaps. Anyway, not the answer being sought.

He's come back and said Canned Heat is the answer. I actually checked them out earlier and ruled them out. Did have half a notion it might be a bullshit question, JHE is a better answer than that.

Calling bullshit on that. The band is still active per Wikipedia, with the same drummer since '67.

Yeah complete bullshit. Who puts that kind of question on a trivial pursuit card anyway? That was a massive red flag from the off.
