The Beatles Ultimate Survivor Poll?

Post by WestwayKid »

Any interest?

Polls are (sometimes) fun. They seem to generate a lot of great discussion. I enjoyed running The Clash poll last year and was trying to think of another one we could do. Love them or hate them, it seems like everyone has an opinion on the Fab Four.

British albums only, including the extra tracks collected on the Past Masters collections. George Martin Yellow Submarine tracks not included.

Thoughts?

I WOULD FUCKING LOVE IT

Just re-read Geoff Emerick's book about recording the Beatles so I'm in the mood to revisit their catalogue.

I think you mean Tomorrow Never Knows or Strawberry Fields Forever.

But, hell yeah, I'm up for the challenge of trying to eliminate Beatles songs.

Eliminating is easy with eyes closed...
All Paul's songs and the ones Ringo sang on for starters.

You hate McCartney? Don't let the boss fellow hear you.

I've slated them in the past but the more I listen, the more I like. I'm in.

Okay. We'll start tomorrow morning.

Should we do one LP at a time?

Please Please Me Side A
Please Please Me Side B
With the Beatles Side A
...and so on?

Narrow it down to the best track from each LP for the final round?

What would Pete Best do?

Sounds good to me. I'm ready and waiting to revisit the whole catalogue.

It's not that I hate McCartney, just that all my favourite ones seem to be Lennon's with few exceptions.
