Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

None of this shit can be forgotten. All these fuckers must be made to genuinely repent or be shut out from mainstream participation in the future. If you think you need to be upfront with your racism, don't think there aren't consequences. This is your personal legacy and how you'll be remembered by friends and family. (Right now, my school is going thru several incidences of racism and the reaction of some faculty members has been ugly. The Boss is definitely taking down names and noting people who she won't be able to trust or work with going forward.)BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑28 Oct 2020, 11:07pmThey've really turned being an asshole to a national sport.

Re: The Trump observations thread
Same is happening here in my community. We have a community Facebook group and some of the "conversations" over the past year have been truly awful. Unashamed racism, sexism, you name it. I know I have a running list of offenders. I'm one of the honchos behind the community little league, for instance, and if any of these idiots ever sign up to coach - they're getting crossed off of the list. Coaching little league is small potatoes, but I hope it's a small part of a bigger slice of being cast out by the community for being a POS.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 Oct 2020, 8:35amNone of this shit can be forgotten. Re: The Trump observations thread
But it is one of those symbolic things that lets a person know that they have offended the community. While I'm not advocating stocks and rotten vegetables, the lost role of public shaming is something that should be regained. The value of free speech is that it has consequences. We hope it will have good consequences—our position persuades others, we gain in esteem or materially—but there must also be bad consequences for speech that grossly offends the community. I know that that can be harmful and challenging to already marginalized peoples (ideological or racial or sexual, etc), but speech without consequence is useless.WestwayKid wrote: ↑29 Oct 2020, 9:11amSame is happening here in my community. Sounds awful. In the end, only 10 celebrities were approved for the program, including Latin singer Marc Anthony, country stars Billy Ray Cyrus, Miranda Lambert and Garth Brooks, and Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.
