As someone who has not mailed a check in time because I didn't have stamps I can see it being a problem.

Yeah, I think if drop boxes weren't so plentiful, it would be a lot bigger issue. But Colorado isn't actually trying to undermine anyone's franchise, so problems tend to be more edge-cases rather than endemic.

Mrs. Unidos & I dropped off our absentee ballots last week. Our county elections office is a 10-minute walk from the house so at least we saved on postage. Our plan for the next week is to avoid the news and drink heavily next Tuesday.

They make you pay for postage? Ours is postage paid and there are drop boxes all over town. I am stunned at how difficult it is to vote in most of the country. I don't know what we do right but I have always found voting quick and easy.

Yeah, here in GA they're not real big on making it easy for folks to vote. We were able to verify online the next day that our ballots were received and accepted, so at least they got that part right.

Just saw a friend of 40+ years for the first time in a couple months. Smart guy, master’s degree, hates Trump. I’ve heard him complaining about Trump more than anyone I know for the last 4 years. He tells me he didn’t even register to vote because he wants to avoid jury duty. *face palm* You’re just as likely to get called for jury duty in New York if you have a driver’s license, file income tax or receive unemployment checks. He ticks all of those boxes. Hope he gets jury duty for 6 months. Lazy bastard. Trump will get crushed in New York either way, but jeez, how stupid.

Yeah pretty much. I texted him details a few days ago on how to vote early, having just done it myself and knowing he didn't vote last time, and he thanked me for the info. Tonight I asked him how it went. I had my suspicions, but man it's mind boggling.

The old rule of thumb about dynasties is that the first generation builds, the second consolidates, and the third squanders. The third-gen Kennedys did it by dying and succumbing to ugly scandals; Trumps will do it in lawsuits and criminal trials.
