Maybe not better but I still love the alternate version of this song, as it first appeared as a b-side. Still wondering where this song has been all my life, cheers again Marky...

The B-side doesn't quite hit the spot as hard as the other version. But such a great song. It made my day thinking you had heard it for the first time only when I posted it. I remember how I felt affected by it's passion and power on first hearing it. Immense song. ;)
It is already up there with my favourite songs of all time. Must have heard it 200 times since you posted it. :approve:
Snap. Cheers again Marky, such a brilliant song and still playing it regularly!

I heard this for the first time a few days ago and have been hooked. Sacrilege to suggest it is better than the original but it is definitely stuck in my head. The Conan performance of it is great.

I’ve got to hear that, and their Banana Splits is absolutely the definitive version, however much I liked the TV show and the theme version!

Great fun band. All 100mph stuff yet never loses the melody.

Sorry I heard it a few years back and I hate it. Massively popular with people I know so it could just be me.

It’s all purely subjective, and I can understand it could grate! See what you think about the Conan version. If nothing else I think his vocals are pretty impressive, plus I like that his chin has somewhere that I can park my bike ;)

It's better than the single. But this guy sounds like he should be fronting Alice in Chains or someone. Doesn't do anything for me. But it's all good mate ...to be fair. ;)

I never knew this compilation existed until I saw this mention and wish I'd got it. I loved some of their 'other sides'.

Disturbed doing Sound Of Silence is an interesting listen, good build, powerful vocals but they get a bit 'trying to sound like the Devil' as Heston might say, at the end. Remember Ken Bruce putting it on Radio 2 when it first came out, he wasn't impressed to say the least.

The better known version is great but I like the slightly slower groove on this...
