Carbon silicon Studio stuff with drums

Post by NoMoreHugh »

These songs were recorded back in 2005 in the bunker by the band with real drums obviously different studio versions of anything out there heard before

I cant tell you where i got them from as i was sworn to secrecy but for god sake its 15 years ago now since they were given to me . I am also not silly because if i have them, there will be others that do as well.

I think it would be nice if people that haven't heard them get the same chance to. So im asking what's the big deal with these songs is there going to be a big backlash if they get uploaded and hopefully no one from the band is going to have a meltdown ?

If anyone knows the deal could they share there thoughts please

Attached is the The track listing of 20 songs in question

I would love to hear them. The lack of real drums was always my main issue with C/S.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Thanks NMH!

Not exactly clear as to what these are. There were some full band studio sessions in Liverpool that didn’t pan out. There were early sessions with Segs and Ruffy but those weren’t done at the bunker. Most of these songs listed were recorded for release at the bunker without drums. 2005 would suggest Danny and William to me. The bunker suggests Robin the engineer.

The rub is the theft back then of many ADATs from the bunker. Mick has understandably had an eye out for those. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard this material myself. Is it good?

Some are different versions of the whole song , Some are just instrumental with backing vocals. but studio recorded not bootleg
If you haven't heard them they are definitely worth hearing and some might even say they are better than the original album versions.

My only concern is getting someone or myself into trouble posting them.
But its a good xmas present for carbon silicon fans especially in this very testing time in 2020

BTW with Heston and BBoy's clever remixes i can imagine they would do amazing stuff with the instrumentals and adding micks vocals over the top

Although I would love to hear them I would say fair play to you for honouring the secrecy all these years.

Wow, just saw this — would love to hear how these tunes sounded with drums etc (but also wouldn't want NMH to get into trouble with the Clash Police!). Maybe you can sort of hum them to us?

I have this and have it as Recorded at Red Eccles IE Danny’s studio in Manchester August/October 2005, if memory serves the stolen laptop recordings had a version of Simon and Garfunkel’s the Boxer and featured Gary or Martin Kemp on some tracks?

Hi Steve
I knew someone would know about these and i am sure your details are correct i only assumed that these were recorded at the bunker because they were named that way.
If you have these do you have a better bit rate than mine i have .wma version at 128kbs and i am sure there are uncompressed wav formats about

My files were dated as 15/12/2005 but thinking about it now that probably was when i received them and its the creation date on my hard drive that created that.
I really loved these recordings what was your verdict ?

I had meant recorded in Manchester, not Liverpool. Misfiring synapses. Mick is not a fan of these recordings.

The ADATs stolen from the bunker are not laptop recordings and range quite a bit farther than Steve’s description.
