I had meant recorded in Manchester, not Liverpool. Misfiring synapses. Mick is not a fan of these recordings.

The ADATs stolen from the bunker are not laptop recordings and range quite a bit farther than Steve’s description.
So we think these are still the bunker recordings ? They were labelled up as the bunker
I have to admit i don't like the idea of upsetting mick seeing as he has been so kind in the past to everyone especially if hes not happy about it.

I think the recordings with drums are likely from Manchester. The ADATs were stolen from the bunker. Regretfully, regardless of provenance, Mick is truly no fan of the studio tracks recorded with Danny and William (not that they are necessarily the cause). He was more upbeat about the BBC session they did, possibly because it was done quick and dirty radio session style.

What's happened to the Bunker? Is it still in use?

Yes I think so. Dreadzone rehearse there as far as I know.

Amazing that one of these stolen tapes should find its way into the hands of actual CS fans? I mean ,it's quite a niché market? If you were the thief, where would you even begin to think about moving it on?

The more I think about this, the more I think the crime ought to have been solved.

Maybe the laptop was stolen after the recordings were already shared with some fans? Carbon Silicon weren’t exactly shy with sharing?

Now I'm confused as to whether we're talking about tapes or a laptop. Maybe I wouldn't make such a great detective. :huh:

It was digital tapes (ADATs) that were stolen.

Alesis Digital Audio Tape. 8 track or 16 track.

Using the WaybackMachine tool I got this from the old forum;

Album in progress....
Exciting announcement over on the official site today: "Carbon/Silicon will be recording their first album in September.... Mick Jones, Tony James, William Hamer and Danny TheRed have already started work on the first tracks. Expect regular M.P3 .Free mixes/works in progress and DV bulletins from the front line. All this from the regular super fansites and usual sources as we go. All new gigs to be announced in the near future."

Whether it helps in the slightest I don't know!
