It'd be amusing if a fear of right-wing militias turning against them is what caused Republican politicians to reconsider their fealty to the gun lobby.

Well, it happened in the late 60s when it was black people with guns. It’s about time it happens again.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021, 2:18pmhttps://www.huffpost.com/entry/kentucky ... 7d85e7796c

Another prime example of white privilege on display last night as the cops walked this guy out to the police car. Another angry white man who feels his country has done him wrong.

The important thing is that his 2A rights weren't violated.

I had a guy contact me recently during my school board campaign. He appears to be an angry white guy (I did a quick internet search) who likes guns. It really unsettled me. Still kind of does. I don't like being on his radar.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑23 Mar 2021, 9:55amThe important thing is that his 2A rights weren't violated.

The odds are still hot air bullshit, but not as much a likelihood in years past. That's a big reason why I don't like going to the US anymore—I'm constantly aware that this asshole or that could be armed. Again, odds are certainly in my favour, but it's not as close to 0 as I want it to be.WestwayKid wrote: ↑23 Mar 2021, 10:31amI had a guy contact me recently during my school board campaign. Re: The Political Gun Thread
I'm fine, thanks. We live a fair bit south of where the shooting took place.
Horrible stuff. Every state has something similar, but I saw a list yesterday of the number of mass shooting in Colorado since the early 90s and, well, it was too long a list to be contained in a tweet's character limit.

Re: The Political Gun Thread
I think it all started with the Chuck E Cheese shooting back in 93 or 94. The Alan Berg murder in the 80s, while not a mass shooting, sort of paved the way. Colorado is a magnet for fringe types, for sure.Flex wrote: ↑23 Mar 2021, 10:38amI'm fine, thanks. We live a fair bit south of where the shooting took place.
