Magical Mystery Tour - Side B - Round 4

Post by WestwayKid »

The battle we've (well, at least some of us have been waiting for) is here: Penny Lane versus Strawberry Fields Forever. Paul's cheery eyed look at days gone by or John's more melancholy take on the past.

I'll cast the 1st vote. It's Penny Lane for me. I like the song. I've voted not to vote it off up until now. It's a good composition and they perform it well, but it isn't nearly as good as SFF.

I'm voting off PL but it deserved to reach the last two. The competition is just too stiff now.

I remember the first time I REALLY heard SFF. I was blown away by how each section's instrumentation sets up the following section perfectly.

i considered voting for SFF just to give Doc an aneurysm, but I couldn't do it.

Yeah, this round is essentially over. It would probably take Russian interference at this point to change the vote...or the ghost of Huge Chavez to hack the site and change the votes.

This may have worked out better if it was just ALL tracks as opposed to side 1 Vs side 2.

I think there was only ever gonna be one winner of the whole album.

After a few more listens, Doc, I take it back. SFF doesn't get my vote. Penny Lane, you're decent enough, but not a winner here.
