Some real robot-bait here. Only one or two tracks would be tough to justify as not only top 5 worthy, but as shortlisted tracks for a best-recorded-music-of-all-time, so it'll be interesting to see how adventurous folks are with their lists.

1. God Only Knows
2. I Just Wasn't Made For These Times
3. I Know There's An Answer
4. Caroline, No
5. Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)

A pedant may point out that Hang On To Your Ego wasn't actually on the original album, Marky :shifty:

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

A pedant might counterpoint and say nowhere in my post does it mention anything about "the original album". ;) I gave up caring a long time ago.

1) God Only Knows (maybe the greatest song ever in my opinion)
2) I Just Wasn't Made For These Times
3) Wouldn't It Be Nice
4) Caroline, No
5) You Still Believe in Me

Or that I Know There's An Answer and Hang On To Your Ego are essentially the same song ;)

Well, yeah. I know it probably makes me unhip, but I actually prefer I Know There's An Answer. Love that chorus. I don't think Ego would get quite as much attention if it weren't for the drug and anti-mike aura that surrounds it (which does make it very, very cool).

Am I the only one here who doesn't give a shit about the Beach Boys?

Hello,

I've never heard this album completely. I think I've heard some singles.

I actually tend to agree, but I like both almost the same.

Nothing wild in my choices

1. God Only Knows
2. Wouldn’t It Be Nice
3. Sloop John B
4. I Know There’s an Answer/Hang On To Your Ego
5. Caroline No

I love this album.

I'm a bit different in that i have come to liking them a lot since i started listening to them 9-10 years ago, but i still never got into pet sounds. Maybe i was expecting too much having heard so much about it, just dunno really. Same as astral weeks.

1. God Only Knows
2. Wouldn’t It Be Nice
3. I Know There’s an Answer
4. Sloop John B
5. Caroline No

1. So Sad About Us
2. Don't Look Away
3. Happy Jack
4. A Quick One …
5. Cobwebs and Strange (it's wonderfully silly)
