Association Football Thread

Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

To all those tossers booing "taking the knee" at yesterday's Millwall game.

Yep and at Colchester as well. I expect that there will be more as additional grounds reopen to fans.
Of course it wasn't the sentiment that was being booed it was the politics attached to it.

Oh yeah of course.

Eustice saying he couldn't hear the boos properly when it was played back to him. He must have special racially sensitive tuned ears because the rest of the world heard it loud and clear.

Hello,

I really enjoyed the setting (and about the first 20 minutes) of the Spurs - Marine game. There were a few hilarious shots of fans sitting behind the Spurs bench on all sorts of odds and ends. Seeing houses next to the field was great - the beauty of the Cup format.

The best part was the virtual attendance - 30,697. I was worried and felt bad that Marine would lose out on a financial gain from the match. It seems not (apparently, Spurs fans were quite a help here - well done to them).

I was there for the last two wins (1972, when Bobby Moore was playing for them and 1996/97 when Ian Dowie scored the greatest own goal ever). Disappointing to lose last night, more disappointing that my dad couldn't be there because of the lockdown, but at least he was pleased with County's efforts (although we never looked like scoring, our main tactic seemed to be damage limitation).

Reading Vs West Ham (friendly) was one of the first games I ever saw as a kid. A friend of mine who was a hammers fan got Bobby More and Geoff Hurst to sign his jacket.

Quite a few of them played in the 1972 game.

West Ham ekes out another 1-0 victory. A surprisingly watchable team this year despite a really passive offensive approach (which I blame on Moyes).
