Based on the clothes and the photos from around that time, I'm assuming that's Feb 8th or 9th 79 either bay area or LA area. There's a photo of them seemingly in the central valley with the same clothes on which suggests it was the same day as the supermarket pics.
Lots of shots on the highway, embankment and of an outdoor market sale in Gruen's brilliant Clash book.
I think the outdoor market sale was at the Sausalito flea market. Our friend with the GEER demo tape relayed me with that info.
Definitely the Sausalito flea market, before they played the San Fran gig. Bob's photos of them on Mount Tamalpais are great.

Was just thinking about picking it up, but saw the price tag...
This piqued my interest until I saw the price on Amazon. All I can say is "wow".
Crazy money and not even the first edition.
This is my copy.
My copy looks like yours, but the red part is a detachable obi.

And just to give Gil the friendly razz, the Fillmore District is generally known as The Fillmore, so the title White Riot in the Fillmore is correct, though the venue is not specifically the Fillmore.
I think that’s what I essentially wrote:

Regarding “White Riot in the Fillmore!” on the flyer, “the Fillmore” refers to the Fillmore District, not the venue The Fillmore. The Peoples Temple was a completely different building, located to the right of the Temple Beautiful/Geary Temple.

Yeah I did mention that. Still artwork amended now so hopefully he'll be happy.
Cheers!

I think Mr. Chuck Prophet and The Temple Beautiful Memorial Band would be happy, too.

I actually found mine in a cave and had to prize it from the fingers of a skeleton. It was next to a pile of copper scrolls but I though it would be easier to just carry the book home. ;)

Abebooks has copies that are more affordable.

The Pier show used to be on the Megalist but the link is now long dead. I've asked around for others to check if they have it. So I can check to see if it's fit for a remaster. Do you have it?
Hey Marky. Are you still looking for The Clash - Pier 84, New York, 08-31-1982? I grabbed it off the Megalist a while back.

Thanks Doc, I continued searching yesterday and found a used "very good" condition on Bilbio books for $27. Cover even looks like the one Marky posted, so it may be a first edition. Just glad to find one that wasn't at a ridiculously inflated price.

Thanks mate much appreciated. Laxman has also uploaded a copy but his is at 128mp3 only. There are two different versions of the same source I believe. So I'll have a play around. 👍😎

Hi Teddy, we're doing OK. I last hung out with Rudy and others in January...masked up, of course.

I find the obi to be unnecessary, though. It's an essential Clash photo book, like Pennie Smith's Before & After.

What are the cross streets of this cave venue? :shifty:

Yeah it's a brilliant and essential book as is Pennie's.

The cave is situated at the cross streets of Bedrock and Flintstone. :approve:
