What is this “Full Moon” of which you guys speak?
It’s a demo track that’s on the cassette of the Joe Strummer 001 super deluxe boxset. It’s also the only track on the cassette.
I felt it was a shame we only got "Full Moon" on the cassette. Even though It's a great track.

The other cassette that Julian Yewdall placed with the Nat-West bank in '75 had other unreleased gems.

Queen Love
Gyrate to the Rhythm
Bo Diddley 6 Gun Blues
I'd forgotten there was a cassette only release, although thinking back, wasn't there meant to be another song on the tape? It's maybe a pity that "Full Moon" isn't on this set, although, and I have my fingers, toes and eyes crossed, that might mean that after a 'best of' compilation then some more releases with, perhaps, the tracks you have highlighted might be possible. I certainly hope so. Is "Full Moon" a Holy Grail?
I seem to recall that it was supposed to be a different version of “Full Moon”...not the “Basement Demo.”
I think was going to be a demo version of US North at first

Good call, JJ and MD.

CASSETTE – U.S. North Basement Demo
Unreleased. Recorded 1986. Discovered in Joe’s cast cupboard.
Joe Strummer & Mick Jones: Vocals, Guitar, Drum Machine

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Strummer_001:

Cassette of previously unheard and unreleased "Full Moon (Basement Demo)" - with artwork replicated from the original cassette recording from Joes's archive. Originally, this was going to be a cassette with a second demo of US North called "US North (Basement Demo)". However, the people responsible for the compilation vetoed this decision and replaced it with Full Moon.

Hopefully US Norths demo gets released or leaked at some point. A Strummer/Jones composition I like just as much as anything else they did.

I doubt the demo will be be ever released officially. It apparently sounds quite crummy.

Looking forward to the vinyl arriving on Friday. I wonder if the tracks have been remastered without being brick walled.

Disappointingly, Joe Strummer 001 sounds brick walled. I noticed that someone else has remastered Assembly, so hopefully it's not brick walled, too.

The new CD is also very loud. Don't know about the vinyl. The Junco Partner is also heavy with reverb, though still cool.

I second this. I love the two live BAD versions we heard for years and especially the Strummer 001 version, but it'd be incredible if we heard Mick and Joe a bit more evenly on the demo.

Not had a lot of time to check the album out today, but I think there might be a slight remix as well as remastering going on.
Paul Hicks has got quite a decent CV including The Beatles.

Has anyone else heard the album yet, it is on Spotify.

I checked it out on Spotify. Sleepwalk sounds much improved, and the two live cuts sound great, too. My ear isnt discerning enough to tell what's different with the Mescaleros album cuts - I've always thought they sound good, and still do.

I'm sure 001 took a lot of wind out of their sails (and, uhh, sales...). It's hard to justify buying some of these tunes again so soon.

We need 002, it's as simple as that.

Agreed! Unfortunately, the Clash & co. dont have a great track record with implied second volumes. Looking at you Story of the Clash vol. 1.
