I saw Phish once. That crowd was surprisingly bro-ish not gonna lie.
I went to a college full of frat hippies so I’m not shocked at all.

Dropkicks had a couple legitimate good albums and lots of tired shit that's so in my wheelhouse it gets a totally subjective pass. I've always found Flogging Molly subpar, even at the simultaneous height of my loving punky music and Irishness. The song writing and singing is so rote, I don't even like the Flogging Molly songs I like.

With Flogging Molly I REALLY like Swagger and so-so like a couple other of their albums from around that time but I stopped bothering keeping track of their music probably 15 years ago.

Faux Edit: Yeah, I like the first 3 records well enough, the third of which was released in 2004. After that, eh.

I basically like Dropkick from like 1996-2002 or so, but I could do without that rah rah Boston pandering.

Flogging Molly I kind of like Swagger, but that’s it. And even that is just...ok.

I don’t really have anything against Irish music in general, but it seems to attract the absolute biggest dickheads in America, judging by every bar I’ve been in that plays Irish(-American) music.

Mary Harron: “Rock is the only form of music which can actually be done better by people who can’t play their instruments than by people who can.”

Hello,

Change "can" to "may". I'd agree with that.

Totally depends. Bit of a sweeping statement. I will say my favourite singers are usually not exactly Enrico Caruso.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Complete and utter nonsense. Put 4 guys in a room and give them all an instrument to play. They may come up with something interesting but most likely they'll sound fucking awful.

It takes skill and guile to get good at your craft.

We can of course debate what is good to the individual.

Agree on this. I'm not sure any good music can be played by people who can't play their instruments. Don't think I've ever heard it anyway.
