Kind of an odd era. All I remember is pitchfork and the NME hyping up every new band consisting of pale white men with guitars as the new saviors of rock music. Perhaps pitchfork was a bit more measured in their assessment.

I never bother about any reviews. The NME would literally disappear up their own existence at times.
