I’m a little confused though. Going through his Spotify discography it appears he recorded some of his albums with German vocals? Odd market to try and appeal to.
Huh. Didn't know about that. Pretty cool though. Here's Schock Den Affen = Shock the Monkey:

I only know one German and he is rather odd.
And yet you recorded that Busking Tour EP with him. :shifty:

This was my introduction to Lee “Scratch” Perry. Heard it on a reggae hour radio show in the mid-90s and spent a while tracking it down, as he uses the same title on one or two very different songs. Still one of my favorites from crazy ol' Lee.

My first Perry was on that transcendent Dub Chill Out comp, which changed my damn life.

I really can't remember the first time I heard Lee. But I expect it was the Upsetters albums. I do really love the Super Ape album and some of his Black Ark stuff is freaking awesome.

I hadn’t come across that Dub Chill Out comp before. Got it on youtube right now, about 4 songs in. Great stuff. Reminds me of Lee’s 3-disc Arkology set, which I’ve listened to a million times. I have the Ape-Ology 2-disc set with Super Ape and Return of Super Ape too. There for a while I was grabbing every $5 Lee Perry cd I could find on ebay or Amazon, so I’ve picked up a ton. He probably appears on 400 or more albums, including his own albums, comps, or collaborations, so I know I've only heard a fraction of his stuff. Haven’t found any I didn’t like.

The music varies there's elements of punk, ska/reggae and perhaps some hardcore as well. You might even like some of it.

His first four albums are all gold.
Yup, I played the hell out of the first 4 albums in the 80s - Car, Scratch, Melt, Security. Also like So and Us a lot too. I saw Pete at the Human Rights Now show at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto in 1988 and still have the t-shirt from that show.

I still remember the first time I heard "Moribund the Burgermeister." What a day that was.
Great song. So bizarre. My favorites from that album are that, Here Comes the Flood, and of course Solsbury Hill.

Not so odd considering the New German Wave was in full bloom around that time.
